Content Licensing Options

Introduction #

This documentation outlines the various licensing options available for content created by influencers and content creators on our platform. These options determine how brands may use the content, as well as what rights the influencer retains. When creating a campaign, brands can choose the licensing type and specify a license duration to match their campaign needs. Please review the options below to ensure you select the one that best aligns with your objectives.

Licensing Options #

1. Exclusive Rights #

Description:

  • This option grants your brand exclusive use of the content during the agreed campaign period or license duration.
  • While the influencer retains the original ownership, they agree not to license the content to any other parties during the exclusive period.

Use Case:

  • Ideal for brands that require a unique, isolated content piece that is not shared or repurposed by other brands.

Considerations:

  • May involve additional negotiation or compensation given the restriction on the influencer’s future use of the content.

2. Non-exclusive Rights #

Description:

  • Under non-exclusive rights, your brand is permitted to use the content as agreed for your campaign, while the influencer may license or use the content for other purposes.

Use Case:

  • Suitable for brands seeking flexibility and cost-effective solutions without limiting the influencer’s opportunities with other collaborations.

Considerations:

  • This is often the default licensing option for many campaigns.

3. Commercial License #

Description:

  • A commercial license authorizes the brand to use the content for any revenue-generating activities. This includes usage in paid advertisements, promotional campaigns, and other commercial applications.

Use Case:

  • Best for brands planning to leverage the content as part of their commercial strategies, such as driving sales or enhancing marketing efforts.

Considerations:

  • This license may be paired with either exclusive or non-exclusive rights, depending on your campaign requirements.

4. Non-commercial License #

Description:

  • This license restricts the use of the content to non-commercial activities. It is intended for campaigns that are informational, educational, or aimed at building engagement rather than directly generating revenue.

Use Case:

  • Choose this option when your campaign does not involve commercial advertisements or revenue-focused initiatives.

Considerations:

  • Ensure your planned content usage strictly adheres to non-commercial activities.

5. Brand Ownership Rights (100% Transfer) #

Description:

  • With the Brand Ownership Rights option, the influencer transfers all rights—including copyright and any related intellectual property rights—to your brand.
  • This results in the brand having complete (100%) ownership of the content, giving the freedom to modify, distribute, or reuse the content without any further consent from the influencer.

Use Case:

  • Ideal for brands looking for full control over the content for long-term or strategic purposes, such as repurposing content across multiple campaigns without additional negotiation.

Considerations:

  • This option is typically associated with premium arrangements and may require additional compensation or bespoke negotiation terms.

License Duration Options #

In addition to the licensing type, during campaign creation you will also be prompted to select a license duration. This defines how long the content rights are granted to your brand:

  • Time-Limited Options: Predefined periods (e.g., 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, etc.).
  • Perpetual: Grants indefinite rights, allowing ongoing use of the content without renewal.

Note: The selected duration directly impacts the scope of use, so please choose carefully to align with your campaign strategy and long-term plans.

Important Considerations #

  • Alignment with Campaign Goals: Ensure that the selected license option and duration meet your campaign’s needs and reflect any necessary commercial or strategic priorities.
  • Additional Negotiations: Options such as Exclusive Rights or Brand Ownership Rights might require supplementary agreements or compensation.
  • Legal Clarity: The licensing selection made during campaign creation automatically binds the content usage rights as per the terms outlined in our updated Terms of Service.

For further details or to address any specific requirements, please contact our support team.

This documentation is intended as a guide. Always refer to the latest version of our Terms of Service for the complete legal framework regarding content licensing.
